SEVEN
11-17 February
SEVEN is an exhibition of paintings and drawings by a group of artists whose work is linked by a concern with the unconscious. This exhibition is an opportunity to witness the work of seven artists who share a studio, resulting in parallels between styles, concepts and technique. The seven artists, Carole Corrie, Adrienne Overall, Amy Jones, Lisa Cotton, Richard Magee, Elizabeth Foster and Sandra Kiris pursue individual themes, although, their paintings are united in that they explore the metaphysical realm of chance, enigma and intuition. The group shares an interest in the theories of Modernism by demonstrating an understanding of abstraction, flatness and the grid as a starting point to situate their responses to both natural and internal worlds.
